I’m so glad to see your blog is off the ground!! And I love the name…

Suggestions:

1. When you write a headline, put some action into it, to pull the reader into the story. Use details, color, humor, suspense, etc. – experiment with sports headlines, take a look at the sports pages for ideas.

2. Break up your stories into several paragraphs. It’s hard for people to read one long post – too much gray text. Also drop some illustrations, photos etc. in, for color and interest.

3. Proofread your posts for typos, errors, etc.

Erin’s “to do” list:

1. choose a different picture for your homepage. Get one, either from your own .jpg (digital pictures) files at home, or go to Google and browse some pictures in their “Images” section. Right-click on any image you want to save, then “save as” your own. Remember, you need a horizontal picture for this blog format. When you’ve got a photo you like, go to “Design” (on your dashboard), then “Custom Image Header,” then navigate to your picture, choose it, etc. WordPress will size it automatically. Experiment with different photos until you get one you like!

2. Make up a subtitle that will go underneath “Fidget” (instead of “Just another…”) Go to “Settings” (on the right on your dashboard) then re-write the “tagline.”

3. Experiment with your sidebar – go to “Design,” then “Widgets,” and choose the ones you want from the left hand column.
