When I first started this blog, I forgot to write about my first games in the beginning of my season. In the beginning of the season, we lost our first and third game. But we won our second and fourth. I also forgot to write about our North Kitsap games we won two and lost our second to last one. I am now in the playoffs and we have won every game except our last one. Tonight at 6:00pm at Strawberry field, field 2, my team the Ice is playing the Storm…..I think.

Every summer, millions of people of go on vacations around the world to vacate from their home to go spend a while in some other place until they come home and go on with there boring lives. But with gas prices shooting up, the travel percentage is going way down. So to make your vacation fun and affordable go on a Stay-cation! My family is not very wealthy and with a sister going to collage we have to save. So we decided on a stay-cation!!! Here are some ideas to do on your fabulous stay-cation.

• Camp out at Fay Bainbridge. It’s pretty close to most people so you can drive home if you need to grab something extra. The beach there is amazing, now the drift wood is mostly gone because it was toxic.
• Another thing to do on your Stay-cation is to go to Battle Point park, there are paths to ride bicycles, scooters, and skateboards on. There is a duck pond. Quack! If you have younger siblings, there is a Playground and in the summer a fountain type thing that squirts water.
• Have a picnic. Either at the beach or at a park. Maybe even in your backyard.
• The Seattle center is really fun. If you haven’t seen the Space Needle or gone to the Pacific Science Center there it is really fun.
• The Seattle Aquarium has a new Octopus. With touch tanks and other sea creatures there it’s a great place to view sea life.
• In Silverdale there is a sport plex there called The Zone. It has indoor fields, outdoor fields, and any sport you can imagine, there are also video games.
• Kayaking around the island. Fresh air ahhh, relaxing.

• Go fishing! Trout, Salmon, Sunny’s!

The second game against the Racers the next day wasn’t as good but we still crushed them. I again got a double and a couple singles and one pretty amazing bunt. Just for any of you non-softball people a bunt is when instead of swinging you hold your bat out in front of yourself. And you knock the ball down in front of the batters box. I just so happen to be one of the best bunters in the league. The second game started off as us hitting the ball to the grass, I believe that our cheers helped. By the third inning, we were ahead, 11 to 6. After holding them to scoring one point, we were up and scored 6 more points within the next 3 innings. At the end of the game we won 17 to 7.

Thanks Maggie, I apreciate it! And to answer your question Kyra is the Kyra from the 5/6 she’s a good friend of mine. I’ll Get my schedual(sp) up on the website but for all I know we have a game today Wednesday at 6:00 at Strawberry Field. We play in the corner field.

I think that last Friday and Saturday were our best games played! On last Friday my team The Ice played The Racers. Now this was our first game against them so we had no idea if we were gonna beat them or lose, so with no high expctations we won. I am not the best batter in the batters box, but on the pitching machine I am amazing, straight to the outfield, and during that game my bat was on fire, hit after hit, after hit! Everybody was bat to the ball. A lot of people got singles and then stole to second within that hit, because they over threw. Kyra and Caitlin, I believe that they are our top two hitter both got singles and doubles. So did I, I don’t know what came over us but we cremed ‘em 17 to 3, the game ended early because we 12 runned them when we were 15, them 3. Wahoo! Go Ice!

Since none of you know Carolyn Droke, I will explain who she is and what happened to her. On Thursday of last week, my softball team was playing a NK team (North Kitsap). Now we were in the lead, 9 to 6. We were on a roll, hits, hits, hits! But unfortunately, Carolyn was on 3rd base and was ready to steal home. The batter up was the other Carolyn (she might spell it differently) and a wild pitch came her way and sped behind her. Carolyn D. she prefers to be called C for some reason of the unknown. She started running towards home plate and as the catcher threw the ball to the pitcher at home, Carolyn D. (C) was sliding and was called safe, a second after Carolyn screamed with pain, and the Ump. called a time out, I had just stole to third when it happened. Everybody ran where C was crying in pain, finally the Ump. called everybody into the dugouts, we all ran in with confusion asking questions like: “What happened?” “Is she ok?” “This can’t be happening again!” What my teammate meant by that is that last year my best friend Caitlin Maguire was pitching in our play off game and we were down by a little. The Racers best hitter, Erin Kinny was up to bat and she hit a line drive straight to Caitlin’s forehead. We were all rushed of the field and into the dugouts, as I was weeping because I have known Caitlin since we were like, 2 years old. The ambulance came on the field, and she was carried off. As Caitlin was being carried away our team decided to chant, “we believe in you 08, we believe in you Ugh!” Till she was inside the ambulance. Unfortunately we had to carry on with the game. We lost. So when we were called into the dugout this time my friend Kyra and I started crying because it reminded us of Caitlin. And as a tradition we chanted, “we believe in you 12, we believe in you, Ugh!” Then we continued the game and we won. This time we were playing the NK team and we won 13 to 5.

ICE ICE BABY!!!! My softball team’s name is Ice. Our season just started and We have had two games so far. My first game was on last Wednesday. It was cold, very cold, so one of the moms came over to the dugout and gave us all hand warmers! Anyway that day we played against another team called the Storm. Now we have a lot of new players on our team so they are still getting used to playing in Majors. Our first game started out pretty well until one of our pitchers started walking more people, than striking them out. We were home team so we were out in the field first. I was playing center field and surprisingly enough, there wasn’t much action. The bottom of the second ining really started heating up. My best friend that i have known since I was two years old, Caitlin, got a double against a good pitcher. I got a single, and a walk, because I got the sucky pitcher. Unfortunatly. I believe by the end of the third ining, the score was 13 to 7 (we were the 7) but regretably the game was called for darkness, which I don’t under stand why, because it wasn’t dark yet. Humph. SO we will be finishing the game on a later date. Soon I will post a lot more pieces, I’ve jst been really busy lately but that is over and I am back on track. Later.

Spring Break

Spring Break is supposed to be a break from school, homework, and the obnoxious voices around you. Usually people will go on Ski trips, vacations, or super-space balls-slumber-party- spectacular! That was my plan but it never happened. I did relax and “rewind” but I never got to do what I really wanted to. I wanted to read for like 5 hours of my Charlie Bone book, but that never happened. So I got frustrated. Basically I can’t stick with weekend plans. I’ll start with Friday, that last day of school. I got home, and lounged around, watching movies, and hung out with one friend Sunday-Friday. Basically the same thing happened everyday, but not much more happened.
